The Kauri Earth table is designed with a unique characterization that depicts the continents and oceans of the earth. The finely crafted top of the table has been created using resin which represents the earth’s oceans, while the continents are designed with thousand year old Kauri wood from New Zealand. The result is a beautifully fashioned play of shadow and lights – the resin delivers a lovely transparency mirroring the waters of the ocean while the ancient Kauri wood symbolizes the strong stoic nature of the landmass covering the earth. The Kauri Earth Table is supported on a strong dark iron base which features a tubular section and tangled visible welded joints – a strong representation and stark reminder of the rubble of destruction left behind in the collapse of the Twin Towers.
