Tonelli Tavolante Wood and Glass Dining Table

The Tonelli Tavolante dining table is a contemporary wooden dining table built around one visual idea: a solid-looking top that seems to hover on nothing. Designed by Marco Gaudenzi and made in Italy by Tonelli, it replaces conventional legs with two vertical glass panels, so the wood reads as a single clean plane in the room.

Design and construction

Glass supports keep the base visually light, which lets the table work in dining rooms where you want the floor and surrounding furniture to stay visible. The edges of the top are curved, which softens the slab and gives the table a more finished profile than a hard square edge.

The panels are not bonded to the top with visible hardware. Matching oak pieces are tightened against the glass to hold it in place, and that clamping is what keeps the table stable. The result is a minimal base with the wood doing the visual work.

FAQ

Who designed the Tonelli Tavolante?

Marco Gaudenzi designed the Tavolante, and Tonelli produces it in Italy. Tonelli is known for glass furniture, and this table follows that approach by using glass as the structural support instead of a traditional base.

Is there a wider Tavolante option?

Yes. Three of the four sizes are 39 inches deep, while the 94 x 47 x 30h inch version has a 47 inch depth. The 94 x 39 inch size is also slightly lower, at 29.5 inches high.

Can I ask about a size or finish that is not listed?

The sizes shown on this page are the ones we can confirm. If you need something different, contact us and we will check with the factory.
