Tonelli Psiche A Wood and Glass Sideboard

The Tonelli Psiche A is a modern sideboard and storage unit for the living room or dining room. A lacquered wooden frame carries a run of concave and convex panels covered in glass, so the front reads as a rippled, reflective surface instead of a flat door line. It is made in Italy and designed by Giovanni Tommaso Garattoni.

Design and construction

Psiche A is built around its curved panels. Alternating concave and convex faces catch light and reflections at different angles, which gives a long, low piece real movement without adding hardware or decoration. The configuration shown on this page uses mirrored glass.

The piece is part of the Tonelli glass furniture range, and Garattoni's other work for the brand is collected on the Giovanni Tommaso Garattoni page.

Floor unit or wall unit

Psiche A comes in two formats. The floor unit stands on legs and works as a traditional sideboard under art or a mirror. The wall unit mounts to the wall, which leaves the floor clear beneath it in a living or dining room.
