Tonelli Trasparenza Wall-Mounted Glass Bookcase

The Tonelli Trasparenza bookcase is a wall-mounted, modular glass bookcase with metal supports. Because it hangs on the wall rather than standing on the floor, it works as shelving for books, objects and display pieces in rooms where floor space matters.

Design and construction

Trasparenza was designed by D'Urbino and Lomazzi for Tonelli, the Italian maker of glass furniture. The name points to the idea: glass shelves held by slim metal supports, so the structure stays light and the shelves read as the main element.

The version listed here has six shelves. Tonelli builds the Trasparenza as a modular system, so the design is not limited to one fixed arrangement.

Where a wall-mounted glass bookcase fits

Glass keeps the piece visually open, which suits living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and home offices. It sits well beside other glass furniture and in contemporary interiors that favor clean lines over bulky storage.
